France Football’s Allegations are baseless, says SC

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy has issued an official statement in response to France Football’s recent allegations.

The French magazine claimed that Spanish football executives including former FC Barcelona president Sandro Rossel and current Real Madrid president Florentino Perez played a key role in facilitating a process of exchanging votes and convincing several Latin American nations to support the Qatari bid.

“The recent baseless allegations by France Football follow a disturbing pattern in the media of publishing stories designed to tarnish the reputation of Qatar’s 2022 Bid Committee. This latest article is riddled with inaccuracies and falsehoods and is indicative of a blatant disregard for ethical reporting.” Said the The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) in an official statement released on Thursday.

The SC also reiterated that they played by the rules and won fair and square with regard to every aspect of the 2018/2022 FIFA World Cup bidding process.

“This matter is now with our legal team who will explore all avenues to defend the integrity of our successful bid” the SC added.
