Difficult Group For the Young Annabi

The draw for the AFC U-19 Championship was held in Dubai on May 13th.

Qatar will face Australia, Saudi Arabia and Syria in Group D.

The final tournament will played in UAE in the period between 1 & 17 November 2012.

A difficult group for the young Annabi, but the team proved its strength during the qualifiers and will be a real contender for at least one of the top four spots that will give them a place in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup Finals in Turkey.

Despite never winning the Asian Championship, the Qatari youth squad made history in 1981 when they knocked out England and Brazil on their way to the final of the FIFA World Youth Cup in Australia, before losing against West Germany.
