2012 Emir Cup Quarter-Finals - Match Summaries

QSL Champions were knocked out of the 2012 Emir Cup after they suffered a 2-1 defeat against five times winners Al Gharrafa.
Moead Hassan picked up a decent through ball from Tardelli to give "The Leopards" a deserved lead in the 10th minute. Tardelli made it 2-0 in the 37th minute with a good finish from inside the area after another good through ball from Osman Al Assas.
Dagano scored Lekhwiya’s only goal two minutes before the break with a powerful header after a cross fron South Korean star Nam Tae Hee.

13-times winners AL Sadd made it to the semis after an impressive performance against Al Wakrah.

Wissam Rizq opened the score to the Asian Champions with a wonderful long range effort, a serious contender for “Goal of the Season”.
Yusuf Ahmed added the second in the final minute with an easy finish after a well-played counter attack.

Al Khurtiyath won 3-1 on penalties
Al Khurtiyath goalkeeper Khalifa Boubakr denied Al Rayyan their third straight Emir Cup title, as he saved three penalties to give his team a semi-final spot.
Jarallah Al Marri gave “The Lions” the lead in the 20th minute with a deflected shot from the edge of the area. But Bahraini international Jaycee John leveled the score after only seven minutes with a perfect free-kick.
In the penalty shootout, Boubakr saved from Fabio Cesar, Rodrigo Tabata (a failed Panenka shot) and Marcone Amaral.

Al Jaish won 4-2 on penalties
Al Jaish continued their great debut season with booking a semi-final berth in Emir Cup thanks to the heroics of their goalkeeper Evanildo who denied Al Khor twice during the penalty shootout.
QSL top scorer Adriano gave them a 20th minute lead, but Al Khor fought hard for an equalizer and they got it in the 72nd minute through defender Kader Abdou to force the game into penalties.
