Football Qatar – Latest News

  • Yemen is set to host the 2010 Gulf Cup in late November, and the final draw will be conducted in August.
  • Tickets for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup Finals will be available to buy online starting from Sunday July 25th. More details will be available soon.
  • Qatar Under-23 squad is currently in a training camp in Holland with their Dutch coach Co Adriaanse preparing for the Under-23 Gulf Cup to be held in Doha later this month in the Aspire Dome.
  • Qatar national team's friendly international against Bosnia in Sarajevo will played on August 10th instead of August 11th. The team will also face Oman in Doha on September 7th, after pre-scheduled match against Estonia was canceled.

  • Jorge Fossati is the new coach of Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab. The Uruguayan is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Al Sadd.

Former Morocco international Abdeslam Ouaddou signed a three-year contract with newly promoted Lekhwiya.

The 31-year-old defender formerly played for Nancy (France), Fulham (England) and Olymiakos (Greece), he also represented Morocco in three African Nations Cups (2004 – 2006 – 2008) before announcing his international retirement earlier this year.

Lekhwiya squad is currently in France for their summer training camp.
