Rayyan Signs Diane

After months of speculations, Rayyan finally succeeded in signing Ivorian international striker Amara Diane from French side PSG.

The deal believed to be worth around 8 million Euros, and will keep Diane at the Qatari club for 4 years for a salary of around 2.5 million Euros per season.

Rayyan was keen on signing Diane since the start of the year but his French club refused to let him leave as they were in a middle of relegation battle, and the Ivorian striker proved influential as he scored 11 goals that helped PSG to stay at the top flight.

Diane, 25, was a product of ASEC Abidjan youth system, one of the best youth academies in Africa, he moved to France in 2002 to join amateur side Roye, he then joined Reims for 2 seasons before moving to Strasbourg in 2005/2006 season.

In 2006 PSG was able to get him from Strasbourg for a fee of 3.5 million Euros, and although he played 71 games for the club over the past 2 seasons (29 of them as a sub) scoring 16 goals, he was always living in the shadow of his teammate, Portuguese forward Pauleta, the main star attraction of the Parisian club.
