Bahrain beat Qatar in a friendly

Bahrain defeated Qatar 2-1 in a friendly match in Doha on Tuesday as both sides prepare for the second round of the Asian World Cup Qualifiers second stage.

Sebastian Soria opened the score for the hosts in the 8th minute, but Salman Eissa who plays for Qatari club Al Arabi drew level in the 25th minute, before and own goal by Al Sadd defender Mosaad Al Hamad in the 66th minute gave Bahrain the victory.

Brazilian born Striker Emerson made his debut for the Qatari national team.

Emerson was one of the stars of Al Sadd in the last couple of seasons before joining French side Rennes at the start of the current season, but he missed most of it due to injury and returned to the Qatari club last month.

Qatar play another friendly on March 16th against Jordan, before facing Asian Champions Iraq in the world cup qualifiers, where they will be desperate for a win after losing their opening game 0-3 against Australia.
